The natural bronze looks

This look is coveted by many women, sounds so easy but is not always easy to achieve considering I have pale milk colored skin ( almost). I bought many products to create this look by a reasonably priced brand BENEFIT COSMETICS. Until I woke up and I realized I was spending a lot of money on this makeup to create a look I could easily get from a high end bronzer like Guerlain or Yves Saint Laurent in half the price too.

I always start my makeup with chanel TEINT INNOCENCE in 0.1 alabarte. I have had this foundation since December 2008. It is pricey at $45, but has lasted a long time.

This is what I bought and recently returned

Posie Tint- Pink liquid face tint-
pros- This is meant for cheeks, but I use it on my forhead, cheeks and lips for that adorable pink look. Its just the right color pink to match any girl brunette, redhead or blonde.
Cons- This makeup is great but it stains my face. I know it is a stain but before I generously apply this to my face, it leaves a small mark where I dotted the liquid. I can not remove the stain from my face, I must wait all day long until it wears off. What I do not like is that I have to apply a generous amount before I see results. I think Iam just allergic to this, I have the most sensitive skin. Iam honestly just not happy with this. Listen to me girls, if something does not come off your face easily and leaves marks, whatever it is, don't buy it. Only buy what makes you happy, what looks good on you.
- High Beam- $24-
Pros
- It evens out all the cakey-ness from the powder bronzer. I makes my complexion glisten and it brings out my best attributes
cons- there really aren't any, I returned it because I want to switch brands. I think its expensive.
-Luster Duster- $18 goldie locks-
Pros- beautiful color, for me doubles as a gold high light, eyeshadow. I can wear it alone with a blush and have a beautiful golden sheen. Or wear it over bronzer and be a golden bronze goddess.
Cons- This doesn't look like it will last me personally a long time. I use a lot of it and I want something that is built in the bronzer. This is still a great product and a great brand.
-Hoola $28 - bronzer -
pros
; I love this bronzer, the color is just bronze. It's not at all like some high end bronzers that have made me look so orange and yellow.
cons; I have to add all the other products to wear with this because it looks over bronzed on its own, it cakes up on my skin and dries out my face.

Just in case things don't look even I apply shiseido perfect smoothing compact foundation in 120 or 140. This I recieved in a very generous sample form.

After I have put all this on to make my bronzed look. I feel like a powder cake. These products are all great, but for me I can not really use them alone I have to build on them to achieve the look I want and that is expensive. I also feel it would be easier if I could just have that look in one bottle. I really do like benefit but , its just not for me. I just had to return it. I really wanted to like and keep this make up, but I think I was allegric to most of it.

The grand total of this look is $98.00 before tax.

I did many hours of shopping and the options are Guerlain or YSL. I ordered the Guerlain Terracotta Light Bronzing Powder in blonde from bloomingdales and I recived it two days later. This shade is unfortunately too light for me and I reordered the brunette. This is the winner, I haven't tried any other bronzers and I know this is the one for me. I didn't even open the compact and the scent was coming out like a heavenly sonnet. I opened the box and I swiped it on, just one swipe and I had color. I was sold. It was so soft , like nothing else I have ever tried. It was like the lightest invisible cashmere veil over my face, giving my just the right bronze here, pink there and sparkles on my temples. Its like it had a mind of its own, all of this for $50. Just one compact. Iam in love with Guerlain Terracotta Light Bronzing Powder. I expect the new one to arrive on saturday. This is a good example of how high end products can sometimes save you money. Especially during this horrible recession, a girl needs makeup you know.
Old bronze routine $98 New Bronze routine $50

Introduction

I am kind of a cosmetics veteran. I have been practicing putting on lipstick since I was about two or three years old. This practice occurred over and over again secretly in my mothers boudoir, until I was about eight and I could apply lipstick perfectly inside the lines of my lips without any help from a mirror. My first lipstick was Estee Lauder. I still remember the color, it was a bright bright red. My grandmother brought me so many Estee Lauder perfumes, creams and lotions. I remeber being about 5 years old and having 50 lipsticks. I cherished every one of them. After I had achieved applying lipstick my next feat was eyeshadow, mascara and eyeliner.

This is my first post Iam new to this whole thing, any suggestions would be very helpful.

I started this blog because I just love makeup and I need a place that is appropriate for me to share my thoughts.
my next post will be my first on the topic of cosmetics. I hope you enjoyed reading this.
Any help of any kind will be very much appreciated.
